Scope of Practice

As Family Physicians, we are trained to take care of the
entire person, regardless of age. From the newborn nursery
to the nursing home, we are comfortable with your care, and
will know when seeing a specialist is right for you. We are
happy to help you manage any acute illnesses or injuries, in
addition to chronic medical problems like diabetes, heart
disease, COPD, and many other diseases. You can take a

Because of our special interest in Sports Medicine, we are
happy to accept active and athletic patients as well. Don't
worry, though, if you're not a competitive athlete; our practice
is happy to treat people of all activity levels. And for anyone
looking for guidance on increasing their level of activity, our
physicians in conjunction with our exercise physiologist can
help you come up with a plan that fits your medical needs.

We also welcome those of you who are interested in
alternative medical therapies. If you need help evaluating
an herbal product or want to find out how it might affect your
medical problems or medicines, just ask your physician. If
we don't know the answer, we'd be happy to help you find it.

As part of our staff, Kevin Dickerson is offers sports and
therapeutic massage. Whether you simply want to relax
after a stressful week at work or need help getting the kinks
out after a long bike-ride, our massage therapist can help.

Our Philosophy

At Cove Family and Sports Medicine, our goal is to help you
and your family stay active and healthy throughout your life.
We are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical
care in a friendly, comfortable atmosphere. We want to be
available to you when you need us most, which is why we
offer same day scheduling, late hours twice a week, and
in-hospital visits at both Crestwood and Huntsville Hospital.

Same Day Appointments

We realize that being sick isn't planned. That's why we offer
same day appointments every day. While we will make every
effort to schedule you with your physician, if he or she isn't
available, we will give you the option of being seen by one of
our other caring physicians or waiting until your physician is
next available. While walk-ins are discouraged, we do make
every effort to see our established patients who need to walk
in on a first come, first serve basis, once our regularly
scheduled patients are seen.

Extended Hours

On Mondays, we offer office visits until 7 PM. These will be
on a scheduled or call-ahead basis. Only one or two of our
physicians will be available at this time. Ask us about
details. Extended hours are subject to change and may be
offered other days in the future.
